With that said, you can use such a Flashcart to load a .rom into it, and then use your DS with that cartridge to launch the .rom. Now given that you already have a save file you want to transfer, you need to copy the save file to the Flashcart too, these files are usually placed besides the rom, by the respective emulator.
Now, following this process you cannot transfer the pokemon between your Flashcart and the X and Y games, because of some security measures implemented by Nintendo. So you need to transfer them to a previous generation game first. Which is great given that you do have the Black cartridge.
An emulator is a piece of software that imitates a certain game system. If you want to play GB, GBA, and NDS games, you'll need an emulator for each. Just because the consoles were backward-compatible doesn't mean the emulators necessarily are.
Most emulators support custom save states and fast-forwarding, both of which are extremely useful for Pokémon games. Custom save states let you use multiple save files at once, and you can save at times the game doesn't normally let you, like in the middle of a battle.
If you don't see an emulator on this list, it's probably best to avoid it. There are, unfortunately, lots of spam emulators in the Play Store that are just copies of existing emulators with ads jammed into every corner. They won't give you a good Pokémon Android experience!
We'll first mention the free option: nds4droid. This emulator is completely free and open-source, with no ads. It has customizable controls, so you can put the buttons or D-pad wherever you want. While the performance won't blow you away, it's good enough on most devices.
Any region should work with an emulator, but you'll of course want to get one that matches where you live. If you don't speak Japanese and download the Japanese version of a game, it won't make much sense.
3. Once installed, launch the emulator, and you will be greeted with the settings wizard. Set up the time and date, which refers to your system information, before confirming it with you.
There is no second thought about Citra 3DS; it is the best Pokemon X and Y emulator available right now. Individual tastes do vary, and so the gamers should have different options in emulators. You have the choice of these two Pokémon X emulators. One of them has aged like a fine wine, while the other relies on the Citra 3DS emulation engine.

I am not going to preach to you the history of the Nintendo DS, nor will I try to validate your sudden urge to play the Nintendo DS. I will get right to the point because I know why you are here. We have listed some of the best Nintendo DS emulators for both PC and Android for you.
On the bright side, you can do tons of customization in graphics and emulation settings. There are other additional useful features such as cheat code manager, and USB controller support. The NDS emulator also offers a save slot feature which enables you to continue the game from where you left off.
While DeSmuMe is popular among Nintendo DS fans, there are few problems with the open-source project. For instance, developers rarely touch the project and the last stable update arrived back in 2015. Other than that, a lot of Pokemon Games are not supported by the emulator however you can still play them. Also, there is no WiFi emulation.
Although NO$GBA started with emulating Gameboy advance games, it still ranks high up in the best Nintendo DS emulators for Windows. First thing first, a plus point with this DS emulator is that it supports GBA, Nintendo DS as well as Nintendo DS Lite (DSi) games.
Unlike other Nintendo DS emulators here, RetroArch is an all-in-one emulator which allows users to play games of nearly all retro consoles. The idea is to have an amalgamation of several emulators (aka cores) in a single software.
The user interface might be intimidating at first, but it gets pretty easier once you use it for a while. However, running games is relatively difficult as compared to the other Nintendo DS emulators here.
However, the stunningly streamlined UI of OpenEmu makes it different from all the other emulators. If you are a Mac user, the interface will remind you of iTunes. For instance, the emulator shows box art for games and sort them by the platform. To play Nintendo DS games, OpenEmu comes with DeSmuMe emulator. 2ff7e9595c
